CUSTOMER REVIEWS
Love it!

Review by Michelle (Posted on 8/8/14)

My children and I really love this DVD set. It makes teaching Art SO EASY. All I have to do is gather supplies ahead of time and we are good to go. I even do the lessons with my children and have definitely improved my drawing skills. As soon as we finish with this DVD set, I will be purchasing the Art Projects DVD. The bonus to the art lessons Pat teaches is the mini-Bible lessons. I think I enjoy those as much as the art instruction.
Art and Bible in a busy homeschool w/ multiple children

Review by jenna shepard (Posted on 7/14/14)

How do you give your children the gift of art and bible in a busy homeschool with multiple children of varied ages?
See the Light has created an award winning program that gives instruction on the basic, fundamental skills taught in any professional art class, specifically designed and filmed to be used at home effectively.
Their unique approach incorporates Bible truth and verse in each lesson that all kids can understand, because it directly ties into the subject matter and skill being taught. The master artist featured in our program, Pat Kneply, has years of experience as both an art teacher and the head of children's ministry at her church. Her techniques for teaching basic art skills are clear, simple and effective for both young and older students. Because of the method used in filming and teaching each lesson, multiple students can sit together and follow her step by step instructions, absorbing different levels of comprehension as they watch. Aside from a few simple materials that can be setup by a parent or an older student, the program runs itself. But don't be surprised if you catch yourself joining in the fun!
You'll find out why I'm delighted to represent SEE THE LIGHT at various conventions :)
What my 10 year old grandson thinks of ART CLASS

Review by grandma of 7 (Posted on 3/13/14)

You might enjoy hearing that Monday night, my 10 year old grandson went to bed with his clothes on and when his Dad told him to get into his PJ's, my grandson asked if he could stay in his clothes because he didn't want to be late for Art Class (Tues mornings) A testimony to the blessing of what you do!! :) Thank you again!

An Incredible Blessing to our Family

Review by Aussie Family (Posted on 10/18/13)

Everything arrived safely to Queensland, Thank you! We have been so blessed. The kids are just loving the lessons and I love the Bible inclusions It is marvelous!
I have even join in too. It's so easy to follow! What an incredible gift this is to our family!

Bless you and thank you once again .
Convenience + High quality + Joy of the Lord

Review by cardamon's pond (Posted on 7/21/13)

See the Light is such a blessing also because we live in the country (about 1/2 hr from everything). The convenience of having this high-quality, DVD art instruction by Christian teachers in our home is an answer to prayer. And, I just love how the joy of the Lord comes through in all of Pat's videos. I may have told you before, but as my kids' artistic talents began to show, we really didn't know where to turn for art lessons. Then The Homeschool Village had me review the first disc of Art Class 1... :-). Thank you all again!
Makes a difference

Review by swingdancingmom (Posted on 7/21/13)

Both of my girls just LOVE See The Light! My older daughter's art skills are improving tremendously. My younger daughter started out frustrated with art, but because of your wonderful STL Art videos, she is able to do each lesson with ease & confidence! The Biblical element is also so wonderful to have incorporated into each lesson. We just had our homeschool Open House where all the families displayed their art & projects for the year. My girls displayed their STL drawings & when people walked by, there was all "ooohs & aaaahs"! :) Thank you for developing such a wonderful program that really makes a difference in the lives of so many!
Hooked on Art Class

Review by ballroommom (Posted on 7/21/13)

I came across this program & decided to try it. After the first DVD of lessons-we were hooked! I thought because I don't know how to teach art it would be best to have them taught by someone else & who better than a master artist with a Biblical perspective on DVD format at a price I could afford! It was a win-win. So I popped in the video thinking I can get some work done while the kids do their art, but I found myself drawn to the video wanting to actually participate with my children. This is a WONDERFUL program & I HIGHLY recommend it!:)
A Great Discovery!

Review by BlessedofGodw/6 (Posted on 4/28/13)

Art is a big deal in our house. It's hard to find an art curriculum that teaches techniques, builds skills, honors our faith in God, and is low-cost. We've tried several different books, DVDs, private tutors, and more.
See The Light art curriculum is a perfect way to provide enriching art lessons for your students while celebrating God and learning about Him as a family.

Fulfills the Fine Arts Requirement for Your High Schooler

Review by R&R (Posted on 11/29/12)

Art Class is fabulous. Pat is an amazing teacher. The materials used are basic. The production quality is outstanding. The price is so fair. The Biblical integration is seamless , and - - - I was thrilled to discover that Art Class fulfills the Fine Arts Requirement for high schoolers.
What more could any mom ask or want?
Best by Far

Review by "Discerning" (Posted on 11/29/12)

Call me critical. I prefer to say "discerning", but I want the best products for my 4 children.
I tried 4 homeschool art curriculums in the past. None of them can compare to SEE THE LIGHT.
I love that the DVDs are homeschool mom friendly. Pat does all the teaching. You only need to gather the supplies. Then let Pat do the teaching, and mom gets a much needed break!
Love art, no training, no worries

Review by Help needed (Posted on 11/25/12)

I love art, but have no real training in it. I believe my children need to learn art techniques, but I can't afford $60.hour lessons at the local art studio. What's a homeschooling mom to do?
See the Light ART CLASS is solid instruction at a reasonable price.
You need to know that the film quality is very good. That means a lot to me considering so many DVD programs leave a lot to be desired in quality . No need to worry with these!
Teacher has an engaging personality, gives clear directionsd, and models lessons at an appropriate pace - all important aspects allowing my children to stay focused. And, she teaches lessons incrementally, meaning each new lesson expands on a previously learned skill.
Technique and art vocabulary are key components in the lessons, as well as learning how to use various art media. Additionally, each lesson is wholeheartedly Christian, bying in Bible verses or mini-devotionals to the art topic at hand.
I've used the lessons with my 6th & 9th graders, but even my five year old enjoyed taking part most of the time.
Skeptical? Check out the first 3 lessons for free!
Time is Precious , and I'm particular

Review by Cautious Caroline (Posted on 11/25/12)

As more of my children reach school age (and quickly I might add), the time I spend trying to teach all the subjects needed in school becomes ever so precious. I've come to appreciate and love the help that programs on the computer and DVD's offer. One of the programs we now usse in our home is a fantastic art program called "See the Light".
There are many art programs out there, but as with everything else in our homeschool, I'm pretty particular. And this time I have my husband scrutinizing my pics with art since he is excellent at drawing. Art is his thing, not mine.
"See the Light ART CLASS" is taught by artist Pat Knepley. She is far more than just an art teacher - she has a love for the Lord that shines strong through the art lessons. Everything in the lessons focuses back to our Awesome God who created all things. She even has a bible with her during the lesson that she reads from. I love the emphasis on the Lord and how even art lessons can bring honor to Him.

Kids BEGGING for more

Review by busymom (Posted on 9/1/12)

I just purchased ART CLASS at a convention. My kids cannot get enough. They are BEGGING me to watch more. I am also starting a co-op with some other moms and we decided to use the DVDs. I'm so excited. The art class will be divided into K-3 and 4-8. God bless you!
Best Buy/Best Quality

Review by BargainHunter (Posted on 8/10/12)

I know my kids need art, and I'm not the one to teach them. I've checked out ALLLLLLLLLL the programs. They are too expensive, too secular, too involved, so/so teaching. Finally I prayed about it , and stumbled onto ART CLASS, a five-star winner!
And - at $99 for a full year, using basic supplies - a true bargain!
But - I found a deal, and got it for $89.99. Remember, I'm a bargain hunter!
Affordable/Biblical/Outstanding teaching

Review by ValUmom (Posted on 8/10/12)

Art class has it all. It's an affordable full year video curriculum.
It can be used across ages and grade levels.
I really like there are no workbooks.
Most classes require very basic, easy-to-find supplies. You won't have to break the bank on this art class!
Pat Knepley seamlessly integrates art appreciation into the lessons by exposing children to pieces of art from famous artists. She also weaves a brief Bible study into each lesson.
A Special Blessing

Review by nantucket breeze (Posted on 8/5/12)

We found your program through another home school blog and my 7-year-old daughter did the free lessons on your site. She absolutely LOVED it, and sat and drew for nearly two hours afterward. I especially love that you include God in your lessons. This all is wonderful for us. My brother, who was an incredibly gifted artist, passed away in March and it was a difficult time for our family because of the circumstances. Finding these lessons, with their messages about God and his love and creation has been a real blessing.
The Hunt is Over

Review by Exhausted mom (Posted on 4/17/12)

I think I can honestly say that I've checked out all the art programs out there, and - without a doubt - this IS the best.
So- moms - look no more. You don't need to spend any more time. This program truly has it all and most importantly, is totally and completely Biblical in its approach. The teacher is outstanding, the drawing lessons are complete, the directions are clear, the production value is superb, and - - - - my 5 kids - ages 6,8,10,12,14 - are learning to draw from an expert!

Pat - amazing teacher of art and Bible

Review by jumpforjoy (Posted on 3/23/12)

I just wanted to say thank you for Art Class. My children are absolutely LOVING the lessons! I have never seen my kids so excited about art before.
My favorite part about the lessons, other than seeing my children enjoying the drawing lesson, are the Bible lessons. The way Pat speaks to the children while she is teaching that short Bible lessons is amazing!
An Answer to Prayer

Review by jennathanks (Posted on 3/23/12)

Just wanted to say that Art Class was an immediate answer to prayer for us. I was so baffled and didn't know what direction to go with art. I prayed and immediately clicked on a google link to a mom's blog page where she has a great link about your art class . What an amazing curriculum- everything I had envisioned!
Love it!

Review by meandmykids (Posted on 1/22/12)

My kids (and I) have been using this art curriculum for about 6 months now and we LOVE it!
I got the first DVD in Art Class as a give-a-way, tried it, loved it, bought the set.
I recommend it without reservation.
Art Curriculum Completed

Review by luvart (Posted on 1/22/12)

No need to look further. Art Class is an invaluable tool for homeschool parents looking for assistance in making their overall curriculums well rounded.
Value of Art Class

Review by Parent/educator (Posted on 1/22/12)

As a parent and an educator, I understand the incredible assistance and value found in Art Class. A full year of art instruction with minimal art supplies needed and priced affordably. . . what more could you ask for? Also teaching art while integrating Biblical messages into each and every lesson makes this project so personally fulfilling.
Love the price

Review by cheapskate (Posted on 1/22/12)

After looking at art courses available for homeschoolers, I was thrilled at the price of this one. It's a fraction of the cost of the others, and - the teaching is better. I'm sold!
Good for many ages/grade levels

Review by Megamom (Posted on 1/22/12)

Always looking for something that works for my one room schoolhouse. This is IT for art! The instructions are very detailed, great for different levels of ability!

And - the price - totally affordable!

And - use of basic materials - just what I needed/wanted
Alone at last :)

Review by Momnotneeded (Posted on 1/22/12)

These lessons are perfection for the homeschool mom. You get the materials, you put on the DVD, and Pat Knepley takes it away. Sometimes I watch, but most of the time I do something else - hooray! It's a win-win situation .
Inspiring Lessons

Review by Ontario Mom (Posted on 1/22/12)

These lessons are inspiring and have sparked interest in drawing for my kids - ages 5.6. and 9.
Slow start,Fast Finish

Review by skeptical (Posted on 11/6/11)

I checked out several art curriculum options. Some are too expensive. Some are too secular. Some don't make sense.
I also read blog reviews. They helped a lot, so I bought ART CLASS series.
At first I thought the lessons were too short/too basic for my kids - 7,9,11, but - we rolled through the first 3 lessons all at once. When we hit lesson 4 - the shoe - I knew we'd all be learning a lot, and we have.
In fact, some lessons require our watching them several times until we all learn the skill. That's OK with me.
Big surprise

Review by dadidit (Posted on 11/5/11)

Our family was at the Greenville convention. By the time we bought everything on our list, the money was gone. That's when we saw this curriculum. After thoroughly checking it out, I felt it would be perfect for our 'gang' of 8.
We left without the curriculum.
Three months later - for my birthday , my dear husband surprised me and the kiddos with the entire 9 DVD set.
I cried.
Now we're learning to draw as a family and have a master artist come to visit and teach about once a week.
Works for me and my family

Review by pqs (Posted on 11/5/11)

I like these drawing lessons. I put them on when it fits into my homeschool schedule. Sometimes we watch several at one time. I also like them because the teacher opens her Bible in every lesson.
No worries about teaching art

Review by whynot (Posted on 11/5/11)

Master artist Pat Knepley is a superb teacher. She keeps my 4 kids - ages 6,8,10,12- interested and learning.
I could never afford to provide this quality of art teaching for my children if I had to find a teacher and find the time to drive here or there.
Afraid No More

Review by kidsrus (Posted on 11/5/11)

I've always had a fear of drawing. It seemed you had to have a special talent. I don't have it.
Now I'm learning to draw right along with my kids. Why?
Because Pat K makes it fun, easy, and we all experience success.
Welcome to my home!

Review by funmum (Posted on 11/5/11)

I can't afford drawing lessons, and have 2 kids - a boy and a girl - who God has gifted with art ability.
Master art teacher Pat Knepley is an answer to prayer for our family.
She's not only a great teacher, but obviously loves the Lord, and relates to children with warmth and enthusiasm.
Welcome to my home, Master artist Pat Knepley!
Finally - My Kids Can Learn to Draw

Review by wonderwhy (Posted on 11/5/11)

I know I can't teach art. I've wasted a lot of money buying workbooks to try to help them learn to draw. They don't want another workbook.
I want a Biblical worldview with everything I use. That's why I homeschool.
This program has it all. I assemble the materials, turn it on, and let Pat K. teach.
